On October 22nd, I performed at an event combining a concert and a literary evening, held at the City Culture Institute in Gdańsk under the slogan "Men Are from the Sun, and Women Are from the Sun." The dialogue was based on selected, pre-prepared but unconfirmed literary texts, as well as on sound improvisations and compositions by the performers. This format makes each encounter unpredictable and surprising. And its drama builds itself, as it were, from the fusion of four subjective, self-interested, open, and attentive worlds. On stage: Rita Jankowska, Maja Miro, Dorota Androsz, and Dariusz Mazurowski. Photo by Dmitriy Sviatashov.

On October 3, the program Electroacoustic Music hosted by Marek Kwiatkowski on EL-Stacja radio aired premiere of my project titled Urbs Memoriarum, a radio play with electroacoustic music. Urbs Memoriarum is, if I may put it this way, a hybrid form that combines the traits of a documentary-style radio play with elements of electroacoustic music and field recording. Its aim is to capture the memories of Gdańsk’s seniors in sound - an electroacoustic impression that intertwines the musical layer with fragments of their own stories, told in their own voices. How they remember the city of the past, how it changed before their eyes, which places hold special meaning, and the events tied to them. The concept evolved significantly during the process. At first, I envisioned it as a spoken-and-musical form, with many short statements, each only a few sentences, so that the piece would not exceed the planned length of about an hour. But as I began recording, I realized that I couldn’t just cut out fragments and strip them of their context, of the emotions that build gradually. Each person’s life and insights are fascinating, and they deserve space and voice. That’s why in the end, Urbs Memoriarum was built around the stories of four Gdańsk residents - though at times their narratives extend beyond the city itself. I recorded each of them in their natural environment, at home or at work - since some are still professionally active. That’s why I deliberately left the surrounding sounds in the background: cars passing outside, voices from nearby offices, a barking dog, and so on. The whole piece is framed by an imaginary concert of ship horns, with the sound of the sea and seagulls in the background. Urbs Memoriarum was created as part of the 2025 Gdańsk Cultural Scholarship / Creative Fund.

Another, third, performance of Strange Things is behind us, this time with a slightly summery feel, but still firmly rooted in the 1980s. It was both terrifying and hilarious – just as it should be. The auditorium at the Plague House in Gdańsk Oliwa was once again packed. The following took part: Ola Szulc, Ola Tutajewicz, Krzysztof Gojowy, Mateusz Dymnicki, Dobrosława Bela, Dariusz Mazurowski and Tadek Jaśkiewicz. Strange Things will return as planned, soon.

On September 13th, I performed my new piece, Seconds Before the Storm, live at the Solvay Centre for Contemporary Art in Krakow. The event, titled Reverse 925, was organized by the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow – Composition Faculty and Studio of Electroacoustic Music (SME), as well as the Polish Society of Electroacoustic Music (PSeME). The entire event is curated by Marek Chołoniewski.

On Sunday, August 31st, I played a concert as part of the Wrzeszcz Pointz event, organized by the Dolina Królewska Association, the Wrzeszcz Górny District Council, and Urban Sketchers Gdańsk. It was a street festival combining art presentations, concerts, meetings, workshops, and various other activities in the urban space. The finale featured electroacoustic music: my solo performance in the evening on the atmospheric and historic Bohaterów Getta Warszawskiego Street in the center of Wrzeszcz.

In conjunction with the recent Radiophrenia Glasgow radio festival, London's Resonance FM will be broadcasting a week-long program (as part of the Radiophrenia Rewind series) from August 4th, featuring selected pieces from the aforementioned event. The program will also feature my compositions. Resonance is a groundbreaking 24/7 radio station which broadcasts on 104.4 FM to central London, DAB to Greater London, throughout the UK on Radioplayer and live streamed to the rest of the world:: https://www.resonancefm.com/

My music for the play Strange Things has just been released on a limited edition CD on the cult Audiomat: https://audio.art.pl/audiomat/. I decided to release it this way because at times it diverges quite significantly from the style I present in my standalone electroacoustic compositions. And perhaps that's why it will prove interesting. There are, of course, atonal, dark structures, ambient pads, but also a touch of industrial, and even... some guitar tunes. Strange Things takes place in the 1980s, so the musical atmosphere also reflects, at least to some extent, that era. The CD is now available, so... I invite you to Audiomat.
